Malar Maternity Hospital

Being at 11A/1 Gandhi Road means we are right in the thick of things in Hasthampatti. The maternity hospital has been part of this street for a long time, and we’ve seen a lot of families grow over the years. It’s a different kind of place here because there’s usually a lot of nervous energy in the waiting area. You see grandfathers pacing the floor and young kids waiting for their new siblings. The rooms are kept as clean as we can manage, with the smell of floor cleaner always lingering in the air. We have a small nursery area where the newborns stay, and that’s probably the quietest part of the building at night, though it gets noisy enough during the day. The nurses here don't have much time for sitting down, as there’s always someone needing help or a bell ringing. The stairs are a bit narrow, so we tell people to be careful when they’re heading up to the second floor. Gandhi Road can be noisy with all the traffic, but once you’re inside, the walls are thick enough to dull the sound a bit. We don't have any shiny brochures or fancy lobby furniture. It’s just a place with beds, medical supplies, and a team of people who are used to working through the night. We just do our jobs and try to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible for the mothers.
