Madras Cements Ltd

I'm Jagadeeswaran, and I work with my father Sadasivam here at 84 Palaniappa Colony. We are located in Annadhanapatty, Salem. It’s a local operation for Madras Cements Ltd in this part of town. Our office is basically part of the neighborhood. You won't find any big glass windows or fancy receptionists here. It’s just us and the ledger books. We’ve lived in 636002 for most of our lives, so we know just about everyone who walks by. The work is mostly about coordinating orders and making sure the bags are stored properly so they don't get damp. Salem can get incredibly hot, so the overhead fan is our best friend during the summer months. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that because word of mouth usually does the trick for us. People just know where to come when they are building something new. Sometimes we have a coffee with the regulars and talk about the local news. It’s a very simple way of doing business. We aren't looking to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do right by the people we serve. My desk is usually a mess of receipts, but I know exactly where everything is. It's just a regular local business run by real people who know their trade. It is a long day sometimes, but it is worth it for the community.
