Madras Aluminium Company Ltd, Mettur

We are located out in Mottur, which is under the Gonur Post in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the local area. The company has been a fixture in the Mettur region for a long time. We deal with aluminium, mostly just the standard industrial work that's been going on here for decades. The landscape around Salem is pretty familiar to us, with the hills and the heat. Most of the people working here are locals from the nearby villages. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It's a lot of sheds and machinery and the smell of metal. The postal code is 636404 if you're trying to mail us something. Things move at a certain pace here, and we just try to keep up with the demands of the trade. It’s not always easy, especially when the machinery acts up or the weather isn't helping, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t really bother with any of that modern marketing talk. We just do what we know how to do, which is working with aluminium. The site is big enough for what we need. We've been here long enough that people just know us as the Mettur aluminium guys. It’s a simple, hardworking atmosphere where everyone knows their role and just gets on with it. We just keep our heads down and work.
