Down in Salem, on Pillayar Kovil Street, is where you will find Maa Sonamanti Textile Industries. We are located in the SBI Colony area, specifically on the 2nd Cross. Salem is known for its textiles, and we are just one part of that big history. Our building at number 612 is usually full of activity from early morning until late evening. It’s a hot place, and the humidity doesn't make things easier, but we are used to it. We handle a variety of textile processes right here. The street outside can be a bit narrow, so getting the big rolls of cloth out can be a challenge sometimes. We don't use any fancy jargon to describe ourselves. We are just industrial workers and owners trying to do right by our families. The staff here has been with us for years, and we operate more like a group of friends than a strict corporation. There’s always someone drinking tea and discussing the day's work near the entrance. We keep our records in simple books and focus on the quality of the thread. It’s a noisy, busy, and sometimes messy life, but it’s what we know. Being in Tamil Nadu, the culture of weaving is in our blood. We just keep the tradition going in our own small way without making a big fuss about it. That is how we have always done things here.
