Lingan Travels

We've been here in Salem Bazaar for a while now. Being right near the Thanthai Periyar Angadi and the old bus stand means there's always noise and people moving about. It’s a busy part of town. Most mornings start with us opening up the shutters and seeing the crowd heading towards the market. Lingan Travels is just a small place, really. We spend most of our time talking to people who walk in off the street looking to go somewhere. The heat in Salem can get pretty intense during the summer months, but we have a fan going and usually some tea. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of paper. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard, but that's just how life is near the bus stand. People know where to find us because we’ve stayed in this same spot for years. We don't do much advertising, mostly just folks telling their neighbors about us. It gets dusty with all the buses passing by, so there’s a lot of cleaning to do every day. We handle a lot of different requests, from short trips to longer ones, and we just try to keep things moving. It’s a decent living and we get to meet all sorts of characters from around the neighborhood. We just take things one day at a time here.
