Todays Export

If you head down to Pulikuthi Street in Gugai, you will find us at number four. It is a narrow street, so getting trucks in and out can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We spend most of our mornings checking lists and making sure everything is packed tight in the boxes. Todays Export isn't a huge operation with hundreds of people. It is just a few of us here making sure things get where they need to go. The walls are lined with tape rolls and bubble wrap. Sometimes the power goes out in Gugai, and we just sit outside on the steps for a bit until it comes back on. It gives us a chance to say hello to the people walking by. We handle a lot of different items, and there is always something to be labeled or weighed. It is not a quiet job, especially when the packing tape is running fast. We have got a routine down now. One person handles the paperwork while the others move the stock around. The office floor is usually covered in little bits of cardboard and scrap paper by the end of the day. We do not spend money on fancy signs or decorations. We just focus on the boxes in front of us. It gets humid in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running high. That is basically life here on Pulikuthi Street for us, just keeping up with the daily shipments.
