We are located at No:122 on Fort Main Road. It’s a spot that gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, which can make the front of the shop quite warm. We’ve been operating out of this building for a long time, and you can see it in the floors and the old wooden counters. We handle various goods, mostly wholesale trade items that come in big crates. The traffic on Fort Main Road is almost always heavy, so getting deliveries in and out takes a bit of planning. We usually try to schedule the big trucks for the early hours when it’s a bit quieter. Inside, the air smells like old paper and whatever stock we have in that week. It’s a functional space, not a showroom. We have ledgers that we still use alongside the computer because it feels more reliable sometimes. Our customers are mostly other business owners who have been coming to us for years. We know their names and what they usually need. There’s no marketing team here or anyone trying to push a sale. We just tell you what we have in stock and what the price is. It’s straightforward work. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the cars go by, and other days we don’t have time to even sit down for a cup of tea. It’s just the way it is with a business like this on a main road. We keep going until the shutters go down at night.
