A 1 Tour & Travels

We've been running A 1 Tour & Travels out of Parkaval Plaza for a while now. It is right by the Tms Bus Stop in Salem, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving around outside our door. Most days we are just here answering the phone and trying to get the schedules right for whoever needs a ride or a trip planned. Salem is a busy place and being at No 1 in the plaza means we see a lot of the city's daily life. We started this because we knew the roads and had a few vehicles. It isn't anything fancy, just a small office with some chairs and a desk where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes the traffic out front gets backed up and it gets a bit loud, but that is just how it is in this part of town. People stop by after getting off the bus at Tms to ask about prices or just to see where we can take them. We try to keep things simple. If someone needs to get somewhere, we check if we have a car or a van free. We spend a lot of time talking to our drivers and making sure the fuel tanks are full. It is a lot of work keeping track of everything, especially when the weather is hot or the roads are crowded. We just stay focused on the day-to-day stuff here at the plaza. It’s a local business and we’re just part of the neighborhood.
