Vishnu Shellac Factory

Down in Distt. Jangir Champa, specifically in P.O. Sakti, you’ll find the Vishnu Shellac Factory. We’ve been in the shellac business for a long time. It’s a traditional kind of work that involves a lot of manual labor. The factory is a bit dusty and loud when the machines are running. We process the raw materials that come in from the surrounding areas. It’s not a clean-desk kind of job. We all have stains on our clothes by the end of the shift. Sakti is a place where people work hard, and we are no different. We don't have any corporate slogans or big missions. We just want to make sure the shellac is processed correctly before it leaves the gates. The local weather can be tough, especially when it gets really hot, but we keep the work moving. Most of the guys here have been working at the factory since they were young. We’re like a big family, even if we argue sometimes about how things should be done. We don't have a fancy office for visitors. If you come to see us, you’ll likely be standing in the yard or sitting on a wooden chair in the small office room. It’s just a simple factory doing what it’s always done. We take pride in the work, even if it’s messy and hard. There's a small shop nearby where we get our samosas in the afternoon, which helps us get through the long days. We close the main doors around sunset every day.
