Shakti Steel Company

Out here in Amb, things move at their own pace. Shakti Steel Company sits right on the main road in Mubarakpur, which makes it easy to find us if you’re driving toward Chandigarh. Being near the Dharamshala Chandigarh Road means there is a lot of movement, with people stopping by while they’re on their way somewhere else. We are just a local steel yard, nothing too complicated. The yard is usually full of various materials, and there’s always a bit of clanging as things get moved around. We don’t spend much time sitting down. Usually, one of us is outside checking the stock or helping a driver back his truck into the right spot. It’s a dusty job, and the weather out here in Himachal can be quite something, from heavy rain to bright sun that hits the metal hard. We’ve got a small space to keep our records and a place for the guys to have their tea in the afternoon. Most people who stop by are locals or contractors working on nearby projects. We don’t do any flashy advertising or anything like that. We just focus on keeping the inventory straight and making sure the gate is open on time every morning. It feels like a proper part of the community here, seeing the same faces and watching the traffic go by on the main road all day. It is hard work, but we are used to it.
