Our factory is situated out in Village Chaundheri, which sits right along the Ambala Chandigarh Highway. If you are driving between the two cities, you have probably passed us many times without thinking much about it. It’s a big site, and we deal with denim fabric all day, every day. There is a lot of blue everywhere you look. The process of making the fabric is quite long, and it involves a lot of heavy machinery that never seems to stop. Because we are out near P.O. Dappar, it’s a bit quieter than being in the middle of a city, but the highway noise is always there. The workers come in from the nearby villages, and there is a sense of routine that keeps the whole place moving. It gets very humid inside the plant because of the way we have to treat the yarn and the cloth. We don't have a flashy showroom here; it’s strictly for production. You’ll see trucks parked outside waiting to be loaded with rolls of denim that are headed all over the place. Sometimes the cows from the village wander near the gates, which is just part of life out here. We just focus on keeping the looms running and making sure the quality is what it needs to be before the fabric leaves the village on those big trucks. It takes a lot of people working together to keep the production line moving smoothly every single day.
