Mukami Mission Academy

Mukami Mission Academy sits right on the Main Road here in Saharsa. It is a busy spot, so there is always noise from the street coming through the windows. We started this place because there were so many kids in the 852201 area who needed a place to go. It isn't a large academy, but we use every inch of the space we have. The walls are painted a simple color and we have a small courtyard where the students gather in the mornings. Sometimes the monsoon rains make things a bit difficult with the roof, but we patch it up and keep moving. Our staff lives nearby, so we often walk to work together. We don't have any fancy computer labs or things like that. We use textbooks and paper. It is how we have always done it. On hot days, we try to keep the rooms cool with the ceiling fans, though they click quite a bit. You won't find any glossy brochures here. We just talk to the parents when they drop their children off. It feels more like a big family than a big institution. We know which student is struggling and who needs a bit of extra help with their reading. Life in Saharsa is fast, but we try to keep things steady for the kids. It is just a plain, honest school on a busy road where we do our best with what we have.
