Down in Village Supaul, specifically in the Basaha area near Pipra Bazar, is where we set up Koshi Uday Food Products. This district is where we all grew up, so it made sense to start the business right here. We focus on different food items that come from the local farms. The facility isn’t anything too modern, just some good sturdy walls and the machines we need to get the job done. We spend most of our time out on the floor making sure everything is moving along. During the monsoon, the rains can get really heavy, and we have to make sure the stock stays dry. It’s a lot of lifting and moving bags around. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a small corner with a table and a few chairs for when we need to sign the papers. The workers are all local people from Basaha and the nearby villages. We know their families and they know ours. It’s a tight-knit group. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or shiny brochures. We just want to produce decent food products and get them out to the markets. It’s a lot of hard work, especially when the orders pile up, but we keep at it day after day. It keeps the local economy moving a little bit and that is good enough.
