Gupta Stationery

Our shop, Gupta Stationery, is located on D B Road, right in the Ply House Gali. It’s a narrow little lane, but everyone knows it because we are so close to the State Bank of India. That bank brings a lot of people to this street, so we see many faces throughout the day. Some are just stopping by to withdraw money, but they see our shop and remember they need a pen or some tape. The shop itself is quite packed with stuff. We have boxes of envelopes, piles of drawing paper, and rows of different colored ink pens. It can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't used to it, but we know exactly which corner holds the staplers and which shelf has the glue. The Gali can get a bit congested with scooters parked outside, but that’s just how it is on D B Road. We’ve been working out of this spot for many years now. The walls are covered in calendars from previous years because we never bother to take them down. It’s a bit of a family affair here, with different members of the Gupta family taking turns behind the counter. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that stay on all day to keep the air moving. It’s a simple business, and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who walk into our little alleyway.
