Vardhman Textile is situated right near the Power House in Raiwala. It’s a fairly easy spot to find because of the big electrical station nearby. The shop is mostly just full of big rolls of cloth and different fabrics stacked up high against the walls. It has that specific smell of new textiles that hits you as soon as you walk inside. Raiwala is a bit quieter than the big cities, but we still stay pretty busy with people coming in from the surrounding areas. We spend a lot of time measuring out lengths of fabric and cutting them for whoever needs them. The light in the shop isn't the best, so we often have to take the fabric near the door to see the real color. It’s a simple operation where we just focus on the textiles we have in stock. Sometimes the power goes out because we are so close to the station, which is ironic, but we just wait for it to come back on. I usually spend the mornings tidying up the shelves and the afternoons helping customers who are looking for something specific. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a basic shop for anyone needing fabric in Raiwala. We don’t do much else besides look after the textiles and keep the place running day to day.
