Mohammad Arif Travels

Mohammad Arif Travels is based out in Lakhnauti, on the Village Shahpur Road. It is a bit away from the main city center of Saharanpur, which makes it a different kind of pace here. We don’t have the constant roar of the city traffic, but we have our own kind of busy. Most of the people who come to see us are from the surrounding villages. They walk in with their bags or sometimes call us from the fields. We handle all sorts of travel needs, mainly focusing on getting people from the village to where they need to be. The office is very simple, just some wooden furniture and a fan that clicks a bit when it’s on high. Shahpur Road can get muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time sweeping the floor. It’s a local operation run by people who grew up around here. We know the roads and the shortcuts better than any map would. Sometimes we just sit outside and talk to the elders passing by. It’s not a corporate office with fancy computers everywhere. We use a lot of notebooks and keep track of things by hand mostly. Being in Lakhnauti means we are part of the community here. We see the same faces every day and that’s how we like it. Running a travel desk in a village area takes patience, but we’ve been doing it for years now without much fuss. It is just our daily routine.
