Madni Hotel

Madni Hotel sits right on the Matadoe Stand Main Road in Gangoh, Saharanpur. It is a busy spot because of all the buses and travelers coming through this part of Uttar Pradesh. The road outside is usually full of dust and the constant sound of people shouting for their rides or honking their horns. We’ve kept this place going for quite a few years now. The building shows its age a bit, but it’s sturdy and does the job we need it to do. Running a hotel in a place like Gangoh means you see all sorts of people. Some are just passing through for an hour to wait for a connection, and others stay longer for business or visiting family. We don't have a fancy lobby or a polished reception desk like you see in big cities. It is just a simple desk and a book where we write names in. Sometimes the fans are a bit noisy, but they keep the air moving during those humid months when the heat gets heavy. My family has lived around here for a long time, so we are part of the local fabric. We don't use any of those big marketing words to describe what we do. It’s just a place to stay or sit. On market days, the whole street gets jammed up with carts and tractors. It’s chaotic but that is when we are the busiest. We just try to keep things tidy and make sure there is enough room for whoever comes in from the road. It isn't much, but it's ours.
