Maa Shakambhari Seva Parivar Foundation

We are based at House Number 115 in the Brahampuri Colony of Saharanpur. It’s a residential area, so it’s mostly just families and small shops around us. Maa Shakambhari Seva Parivar Foundation is a group we put together to help the local folks. We don’t have a big corporate budget. Our office is just one of the rooms in the house, filled with some old wooden chairs and a table that wobbles if you lean on it too hard. Saharanpur is known for its wood carving, but we are just focused on the people here. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors about their problems. Sometimes we help with food, other times it’s just giving advice on how to get things done at the government offices. It’s a bit disorganized sometimes, but we manage to get through the day. We don't use much fancy language because we aren't experts. We are just a family-like group—that’s why we have 'Parivar' in our name. There is usually a pot of tea going, and someone is always dropping by for a chat. We don't have set hours really, we just work when there is work to be done. It’s honest stuff. No one here is getting rich; we just like being useful in Brahampuri. If you come by, just knock on the door of 115, someone is usually around to answer the door.
