Indo Paints & Chemical

Indo Paints & Chemical is located at G-5 in the Industrial Estate right on Delhi Road. It’s a row of similar units, so you have to look for our number on the door. Inside, it’s all about the mixing vats and the various chemicals we use for our paints. The floor has splashes of different colors from over the years, which almost looks like art if you don't think about the work involved. We spend the day measuring out liquids and powders. It’s a precise job but the environment is very blue-collar. We have a small staff and we all know each other well. There’s no corporate hierarchy here; we just all pitch in where it’s needed. The air usually smells a bit like solvent, but we keep the fans going to stay fresh. Being on Delhi Road means it’s easy for transport, though the noise from the highway never really stops. We eat our lunch together in the small break area near the back. We’ve been here long enough that we know the guys in the neighboring units too. It’s a community of makers and workers. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just show up every morning, check the orders, and start the mixers. It’s a regular job in a regular industrial estate, and that’s fine with us. We finish up when the work is done.
