Aggarwal Wood Carving Center

Aggarwal Wood Carving Center is located in Purana Thana Mandi. This is an old part of the city, and you can tell by the way the buildings are clustered together. There is always a lot of activity in the Mandi. Our shop is full of the smell of fresh wood and sawdust. We do a lot of carving by hand using traditional chisels and mallets. You can find piles of wood shavings all over the floor by the end of the day. We don't have a big showroom. Most of our work is stacked up against the walls or sitting on workbenches. It is a bit messy, but that’s how a wood shop should be. We’ve been here in Purana Thana Mandi for a very long time. The locals know us well. We don't use many power tools because we prefer the old ways of doing things. It takes longer but the results feel better in your hand. The street outside is narrow and can get blocked by carts and cows. We just work through the noise. Sometimes people stop by just to watch us carve for a few minutes. We don't mind. We aren't trying to be a big corporation. We just like working with wood and making things that people can use in their homes. It’s a simple life and we are happy with it. We just open the shop every morning and see what wood we have to work with today.
