Somnath Rice Mill

If you go toward the Nagar Palika in Lunavada, you will find us right nearby. This is a busy part of town, especially on market days when everyone is moving about. The mill stays active most of the year. Being in Sagar district, we see a lot of different people coming through with their carts and tractors. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space for processing rice. It gets warm inside during the summer months, but we are used to it by now. We spend most of our time checking the quality of what comes in and making sure the hulls are cleared out properly. Sometimes the traffic near the municipal office makes it hard for the bigger trucks to turn, but we manage somehow. It is a tight spot but it works for us. We have a few old fans that rattle a bit too much, yet they keep the air moving. My desk is usually covered in receipts and small samples of grain. I like being near the center of town because you always know what is happening in the neighborhood. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People just know where Somnath is because we have been in this spot for years. It is just honest work, day in and day out, dealing with the local farmers and keeping the supply moving along properly. We do not have much of a lobby, but the grain is good and the work gets done eventually.
