We are based out in Villageat Post Patharia Jat, which is near the Khurai Road in the Sagar district. Sagar Pulses Pvt. Ltd. is situated in a spot that is a bit away from the main city, so it is a bit quieter out here. We deal with pulses, which involves a lot of cleaning, grading, and packing. The facility is basically a large shed with a few offices attached to the side. Most of our work is done on the floor where the grain is processed. It gets pretty loud when the big sifters are running, but that is how you know work is getting done. We get our supplies from the nearby farms, and the quality of what we have depends a lot on the rain and the season. Some of us have been working here since the place first opened up. We are not much for formal meetings or corporate talk; we just get together in the morning, see what needs to be bagged, and get to it. The road out to Patharia Jat can be a bit rough after a heavy rain, but the trucks still manage to get through. It is a straightforward life centered around the harvest cycles. We just try to keep the machinery in good shape and make sure the pulses are ready for the market. It is a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, but it is what we do.
