Lakhan Kirana Store

Lakhan Kirana Store is sitting right in Binaganj on Chodi Road. We are directly opposite the Government Hospital. This location means we see a lot of people passing by all day long. Some are visiting the hospital and stop in for a bottle of water or some biscuits. We carry all the usual kitchen items like oils, flour, spices, and sugar. The shop isn't very large, so we have stuff stacked all the way to the ceiling. It can get a bit tight when more than three people are inside at once. I've been running this place for many years now. My son helps out when he isn't busy with his own work. We don't use a computer for billing; we just use a calculator and a notebook. Sometimes the dust from Chodi Road comes inside, so we are always wiping down the glass jars. We don't have fancy displays or bright lights. It's just a neighborhood kirana store. We buy our stock from the city market every few days. If someone needs something we don't have, we try to get it in the next trip. We close up around 9 PM most nights. It is a lot of standing around, but we like talking to the regulars who come in for their daily supplies. It is a steady way to make a living and we are happy being part of the Binaganj community.
