You can find Gramani Milk at Flat Number 1 in the Shiv Sagar building. We are part of the Mitra Sahakar Chawl Number 9 in Bhatwadi. It’s right near Ajay Kirana Store, which is the easiest way to tell people where we are. We are a small One Person Company, so things are pretty personal here. I spend most of my day dealing with milk and various milk products. It’s a lot for one person to handle, but I have some help from friends and family now and then. The space is small, but it’s clean and it works for what we need. Dealing with dairy means you can't really take many days off. The cows don't stop producing and people don't stop needing milk. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know most of the people who walk past the shop. It’s a tight-knit community here in Bhatwadi. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. I just put a sign out and talk to my neighbors. Sometimes the supply is a bit short or the prices change, and I have to explain that to everyone. It’s just me trying to run a decent business and provide something useful. It’s hard work, but I like being my own boss. Every morning starts early, but seeing the familiar faces makes it okay. The rain gets into the entryway of the chawl sometimes, so we always have a mop handy. It’s those little things that you don’t think about until you’re actually running the place.
