We are Govind Prasad Bilaiya & Sons, and you can find us at Plot No.74 in Katra Bazar. Being right near the Jama Masjid, there’s always a lot of activity and noise around our shop. My father started this business many years ago, and now my brothers and I are the ones handling everything. The shop is quite old and a bit cramped because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. We don't use any modern marketing or have a polished look. We just open the shop shutters early and see who the day brings in. The bazaar is a tight place with lots of rickshaws and people shouting, but it’s where we belong. We’ve known the families in the neighboring shops for a long time. We mostly deal in general goods that people need for their daily lives. We keep our records in big handwritten ledgers because that’s how we were taught. Sometimes the roof drips a little when there’s a heavy storm, so we have to scurry around moving things. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the regulars who stop by for more than just shopping. It’s not a fancy lifestyle, but it’s honest work. We don't make big promises or use corporate talk. We’re just a family trying to keep a long-standing business going in the middle of a busy market. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s our way of life.
