Jayant Steel

Our place is situated right where Firozabad Road meets Hathras Road, not far from the police station. It’s a noisy intersection and there is always some kind of traffic jam happening right outside our gates. Jayant Steel has been operating from this corner for a good bit of time. You can usually hear the sound of metal clanging if you walk past because there is always something being moved around. We don't have a reception desk or a waiting room with magazines. Usually, if someone comes by, they just find one of us on the floor or in the small office space we carved out. The police station is a handy landmark for giving people directions when they’re coming from out of town. The dust from the road settles on everything so we are constantly wiping down the desks. It’s a practical kind of life here. We focus on getting the steel out to whoever needs it without making too much of a fuss. The sun sets right behind the main building which makes the evenings a bit more bearable after a long shift. We have a small crew and we all know our roles pretty well by now. Some days are slower than others but there is always a truck to unload or a ledger to update. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep things moving along without any major hiccups. It can be exhausting but it is the work we know how to do best.
