Jyoti Eye Hospital

You can find us on the 3rd floor of the Akash Ganga Complex. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. We are right there with Nirali Hospital, near the S.T. Stand, so there are always people coming and going from the buses. You can hear the conductors shouting out destinations from our windows if the wind is right. Being up on the 3rd floor gives us a bit of a view of the busy streets below. We handle all sorts of eye things here. The light in the clinic is kept a bit dim because it’s better for the patients’ eyes after they’ve had their checkups. We have a few machines for testing and a lot of charts on the walls. The waiting room is usually full of people holding their bags, waiting for their turn before they have to catch the next bus home. It’s a practical setup, nothing fancy at all. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the lenses are clear. The staff is used to the hustle of being near the bus stand. We eat our tiffins quickly and get back to it because the line never seems to get any shorter. It’s a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but we keep the inside as clean as we can. It’s just our daily grind in the middle of the city, focusing on the eyes of everyone who walks in from the complex hallway.
