Avon Soap Factory is tucked away in Girdharnagar. If you look behind the Mehta Petrol Pump, you will find us easily enough. We have been making soap here for a very long time. The smell of the ingredients is something you get used to pretty quickly, and now we don't even notice it. It’s not a modern, high-tech facility with robots; it’s more of a traditional setup where things are done by hand or with older machines that still work fine. We are a small team and most of us live in the neighborhood. The day starts quite early here so we can get the batches ready before the heat of the afternoon kicks in. Being behind the petrol pump means we are a bit hidden from the main road, but the locals know us well. We don't have a sales team or a fancy office for meetings. Most of our time is spent on the factory floor making sure the soap is mixed and set right. It gets a bit messy and wet, as you’d expect from a soap making place. We just focus on the product and getting it out to the shops that buy from us. We don't use a lot of fancy packaging or big slogans to sell things. It’s just good soap, made by people who have been doing it for years. Sometimes the machinery acts up, and we have to fix it ourselves with a wrench. It's just a regular life.
