Ashapura

Ashapura is located right in the heart of Village Ganthiol, not too far from the A. P. Thakar High School. Being near a school means our days are marked by the sound of the bell and the noise of kids running home in the afternoon. Idar is a quiet enough place, but we stay busy with the work here in the village. This isn't some big city operation; it’s a local business where we know most of our customers by name. My desk is usually covered in papers and receipts, and there is always a cup of cold tea sitting somewhere that I forgot to drink. We started this because there was a need in the Teshil, and we just kept going. The post office is close by too, so we see the postman every day, and he usually stops for a minute to complain about the heat. We don't have fancy signs or a big showroom. Most people just walk in through the main gate and ask for what they need. Sometimes the supply of materials gets interrupted, and I have to spend the whole day on the phone trying to get things moving again. It’s a lot of small tasks that add up, but it feels good to be part of the community here in Ganthiol. We just do our bit and hope the rain doesn't hold up our work for too long. After the sun sets, the village gets very still.
