Ambica Quarry Works

If you look for Shakti Complex on the Modasa Road in Talod, you will find us at F 123. We are right near the Janta Bank, which is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. Being in a complex like this is a bit different from being out at the actual quarry site. It is more about the paperwork and meeting people here. The office is small and filled with samples of stones and different bits of rock we have brought in. There is always a layer of fine stone dust on the window sills. We spend a lot of time on the phone, talking to the guys at the site or coordinating with the transport trucks. Talod is a place where everyone seems to know everyone else, so we get a lot of people just dropping in to ask questions or see what we have. It’s not a very quiet office because of the traffic on Modasa Road and the people coming and going from the bank next door. We keep a kettle in the corner for tea, and that’s usually going all morning. The work is steady, mostly just managing the flow of materials from the ground to the customers. We don't have any big corporate stuff going on here, just a few of us trying to keep things moving and making sure the orders are right. Sometimes the days feel long when the stones are delayed, but we just wait.
