Our place is on the fourth floor, Flat No 401. The address is a bit of a mouthful, 7/1/621/259. It’s a quiet building, which is good for what we do. Being a laboratory, you need a bit of peace to focus on the details. We don’t have people walking in off the street constantly. Most of our work is done in the back where the equipment is set up. It’s a modest space, not like those giant research centers you see on TV. We have our benches, our glass bottles, and our notebooks. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is quite a workout to the fourth floor. We’ve got a small team here. We mostly just talk about the results we’re seeing and what needs to be tested next. It’s very practical work. We aren't trying to change the world overnight; we just want to get the data right. The light in the flat is actually pretty good in the afternoons. We usually have some tea around four o’clock and discuss the schedule. It feels more like a workshop than a corporate office. We like the independence of being in our own small space. It lets us focus on the tasks without too many distractions from the outside world.
