Srm Rice Traders

Out here in Fatehgarh Sahib, things move at a certain pace. Srm Rice Traders is located in the S.A.S. Nagar area, and we’ve been handling grain for quite some time. The smell of rice is basically stuck in our clothes at this point. It’s a lot of loading and unloading bags, honestly. We spend most of our mornings checking the quality of what comes in from the local fields. The sun can get pretty hot during the middle of the day, so we usually try to get the heavy lifting done early. Our space isn't huge, but it's enough to store what we need. You won't find any shiny brochures or sales people here. It's just us and the bags of rice. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to spend an afternoon fixing it, which is frustrating but that is just how it goes. People from the taluka know where to find us if they need a large order. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of our business is just talking to people face to face. It’s a simple way to live and work. We know the farmers around here well. When the harvest season hits, it gets really chaotic and we barely have time to eat lunch. But we enjoy being part of the food chain in this part of the country. It feels right to be doing something useful for the community and we plan to keep at it.
