Sm Bricks & Company

If you’re driving near Gobind Valley and pass through Majri Village, you’ll probably see Sm Bricks & Company. We’ve got a pretty decent sized lot right here. It’s mostly just open space with rows and rows of bricks sitting out. I’ve lived around here most of my life and worked this spot for a long time. It’s a bit out of the way, which is fine because the big trucks need the space to turn around without hitting anything. The dust is a constant thing, especially when the wind picks up across the valley. You get used to it after a week or two. We don't do much advertising because people just know we're here. They stop by, ask about what we have, and we figure out a way to get it to their site. It's honest work. Sometimes the kiln needs fixing or the wood for the fire isn't dry enough, which can be a real pain. But usually, we just keep the cycle going. My brother helps out with the books when he can, but mostly we’re out in the yard. We don’t use any high-tech systems or fancy computers. Just a notebook and some grit. It feels good to see a pile disappear because it means someone is building something new nearby. That’s just the way life is in Majri Village. We keep our heads down and work until the sun goes down.
