This is the Scl office under the Government of India, located at Kothi Number 219 in Phase-2, Mohali. We are quite close to Chandigarh, so it’s easy for people to find us once they get into the area. Being a government-linked setup, things are a bit more formal but the building itself is a standard house, or kothi, as we call them here. It has that classic Mohali feel with the wide roads and the trees lining the streets. Inside, you’ll find the usual government office atmosphere—lots of files, heavy wooden desks, and a few ceiling fans whirring away. We don’t have those fancy open-plan offices you see in the private sector. Everyone has their own corner and we go through the paperwork at a steady pace. It’s usually pretty busy in the mornings with various administrative tasks. During lunch, we often sit together or take a short walk outside to stretch our legs. The weather in Mohali can be quite extreme, really hot in the summer and very cold in the winter, so we just dress accordingly. We’ve been at this location for quite some time now. It’s a functional space meant for work, and we don’t spend much time worrying about the decor. It’s just a reliable spot where the work of the department gets done every day. We just try to stay on top of the files.
