Munish Departmental Store

Our store is located right in Village Balongi, just a short distance from the local Dharmsalla. Being here in the Mohali district means we see a lot of the same faces every single day. We carry all the basic stuff like flour, sugar, some snacks, and household supplies that people need for their homes. It gets pretty crowded in the morning when people are heading out for work or school. We do our best to keep the shelves full, but occasionally we run out of something if the delivery truck is delayed. It happens to the best of us. Since it is a small village, we usually end up chatting with the customers about their families or the weather while we ring up their items. The shop is not very large and it can feel a bit tight when there are more than three people inside at once. We have learned over the years what the local people usually ask for, so we try to keep those things in stock. We are not trying to compete with the big supermarkets in the city. We just want to be a convenient place for the neighbors to grab what they forgot. Working here means seeing the village change through the different seasons. In the summer months, it gets quite hot inside, so we keep the ceiling fans running all day long. It is just us doing our daily routine and making sure the people of Balongi have what they need nearby.
