Our factory is at 187 in the Industrial Area Phase 9. It’s a standard spot in a part of town that’s mostly just other warehouses and production units. We show up in the morning, roll up the big metal doors, and start getting things ready for the shift. The space is quite large, so the echo of the machines can be pretty loud if you aren’t used to it. Most of the time, the floor is covered in metal shavings or bits of packaging that we sweep up at the end of the day. There’s a small office partitioned off with glass in the corner, but nobody spends much time in there because there’s too much to do out on the floor. Phase 9 is a bit of a drive for some of us, but it’s a good area for getting trucks in and out without getting stuck in the middle of city traffic. We’ve got a few old fans that wobble a bit but they help keep the air moving when the sun is beating down on the roof. It’s not the kind of place you’d come to see something beautiful, but it’s a solid building that serves its purpose. We keep our tools organized on the wall, or at least we try to, though things often get borrowed and left on different workbenches. It’s just a regular industrial setup where we keep busy and mind our own business.
