Khanna Clinic

Our clinic is tucked into Shop No 1053 in Sector 70, Chandigarh. It’s right across from Vivek High School in the Mattaur area. During the mornings and when school lets out, the whole street gets filled with cars and parents, so it’s always lively around here. The shop itself is quite small, but we’ve managed to fit everything we need inside. There’s a front desk that’s a bit cluttered with notebooks and a telephone that rings more than it should. We have a few plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait. The floor is that old-style tile that’s easy to mop. Dr. Khanna has a small office in the back where the light isn't the brightest, but it works for what we do. We don’t have any big signs or flashing lights outside. Just a simple board with the name on it. Working in Mattaur means we see a lot of the same faces every week. People come in for small things or just to ask a quick question. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our notes are still written down by hand in big registers. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it’s the way we’ve always done it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to close up and get it done.
