Ivy Hospital

Ivy Hospital is located in Sector 71, which is fairly close to the Airport Road. It’s a big building, and you can see it from quite a distance when you’re driving through the sector. Being near a major road means we get a lot of sirens and traffic sounds throughout the day and night. The hospital is usually quite busy, with people coming in for all sorts of reasons. The lobby is large, but it often feels full because there are so many families waiting for news or appointments. We have the usual hospital smell—a mix of floor cleaner and medicine—which is something you stop noticing after you’ve worked here for a few weeks. The elevators are almost always in use, so some of us just prefer taking the stairs between floors. It’s a lot of walking, but it keeps us moving. We have a lot of different departments, from the emergency room to the regular wards, and each one has its own little community of nurses and staff. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a place where things are always happening. We deal with a lot of paperwork and sometimes the computer system slow down when we are trying to discharge someone. It’s just a regular hospital in a growing part of town, trying to keep up with the number of people moving into Sector 71. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a place where people can get their health looked after.
