Prem Marble House

So we've been here at Plot No. D-1, D-2, 35 for a while now. It's right on Janta Inter College Road in the Civil Lines area. If you come by Prem Marble House, you'll see a lot of heavy lifting going on. There is usually white dust on our shoes and the floors because that's just how it is when you deal with marble and stone all day. We spend most of our mornings moving slabs around with the crane or checking the stock that came in overnight. It gets hot out here in the yard, especially in the afternoons. Most of us have been working with stone for years, so we know which piece has a crack or where the pattern looks a bit off. We don't really have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk and some chairs where we sit to talk about the sizes and the prices. The traffic on Janta Inter College Road can get a bit much when the school nearby lets out, so we try to get the big trucks in early. It's honest work, mostly just unloading and loading. Sometimes someone comes in looking for a small piece for a shelf, and other times it's for a whole house. We just show them what we have piled up in the plots. It isn't always neat, but it's what we do every day here. The neighbors are mostly quiet except for the college kids walking past.
