Mother Earth Movers

We are over here in Brahmani Tarang, right by the DC Fly Over. It’s a busy spot with all the trucks and cars passing by all day. We’ve been doing this earthmoving thing for a while now at Mother Earth Movers. Our yard is where we keep the machines when they aren't out on a job site. It’s mostly digging and moving dirt, nothing too complicated but it keeps us busy. The flyover makes it easy for people to find us, but the noise never really stops. You get used to it after a week or two. My hands are usually dirty by nine in the morning, which is just part of the job. We have a few guys who have been with us for years and they know the equipment better than anyone. It’s not a fancy office, just a small place to get the paperwork sorted and keep the keys. We keep the machines ready to go. Sometimes the weather stops us, like when the rain makes the ground too soft to work. We just wait it out until things dry up. People come by and ask if we can help with a plot of land or a trench. If we have a machine free, we get it done. We don’t spend much time on the computer here. Most things are handled face to face or with a quick phone call. That’s just how it is for us.
