Our spot is at D-5 in the Industrial Estate, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a place like this. There is always a lot of metal around and the sound of tools hitting things. It’s loud, and you usually have to raise your voice to be heard over the machinery. We don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks. As long as the equipment is running and the work is getting done, we’re happy. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains, and there are stacks of materials waiting to be used sitting in the corners. We show up early, get the machines warmed up, and start working through the list of things we need to finish. Lunch is usually eaten quickly so we can get back to it. Sometimes an order is tricky and takes more time than we thought, so we stay a bit late to get it right. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it long enough that we don’t need to look at the manuals much anymore. The guys here know their way around the shop floor. We don't have any big speeches or marketing plans. We just take the drawings people bring us and try to turn them into something useful without making a big fuss about it. At the end of the day, we lock up the gates and head home, ready to do it again tomorrow.
