Larsen & Toubro

Setting up here in Plot No.1 at Sidcul has its ups and downs. Haridwar is a busy place, but out here in Sector-11, it’s mostly just trucks and industrial noises. Our office at Larsen & Toubro isn’t much to look at from the outside. It’s a functional space where we handle the day-to-day operations for this part of Uttaranchal. The winters get really cold here, so we usually have a small heater tucked under the main desk to keep our feet warm. In the summers, it's the opposite, and we're just waiting for the rain to start. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at spreadsheets. The guys in the warehouse are always moving things around, so there’s a constant rhythm of banging and shouting that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the decor. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s not really a priority when there’s so much work to be done. We share a few laughs during the lunch hour over homemade tiffins. Most of us live fairly close by, so the commute isn't too bad except when the main road gets blocked by some construction project. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep things moving. It's a steady life here in Sidcul, and we're just part of the local landscape now.
