Twksaa Welfare Foundation

Our foundation is situated in the village of Kenarkalan. We share a space with Janardan Prasad. It’s a small Tola within the Kenarkala panchayat, which sits in the Chenari block. The area is quite rural. Most people around here are involved in agriculture. We decided to set up here because there wasn't much help available for the locals. Our office is just a room with some basic furniture. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or walking between houses. It is not a desk job for the most part. We handle welfare issues as they come up. It might be about water or it might be about schools. We don't have a fixed schedule, we just work when there is work to be done. The weather gets really hot in the summer, so we usually do our outdoor rounds early in the morning. People know they can find us at Janardan’s if they need anything. We have a few ledgers where we keep track of what we do. It’s nothing fancy, just pen and paper mostly. Sometimes we get visitors from the block office, but usually, it’s just the village folk. We like it this way. It’s honest work and we know everyone by name. The Chenari area is beautiful, even if it’s a bit far from the main roads. We have a small garden out back where we grow a few vegetables and herbs for our daily lunch. It keeps us going during the busy weeks.
