Premta Oil Mills (Opc) Private Limited

Our mill for Premta Oil Mills (Opc) Private Limited is out in Sabrabad village. It is in the Chenari area of Rohtas district near Sasaram. It is a quiet village for the most part except for the sound of our machinery. We process oil here from various seeds we get from the local area. My family has lived around Rohtas for a long time so we know most of the people. The mill takes up most of our waking hours. It is dusty work and the smell of the pressed seeds stays on your clothes all day. We are not some huge factory with hundreds of workers. It is just a local operation in the village. The roads out here can get really rough during the monsoon season which makes it hard for the tractors to reach us. We see a lot of the same faces every week coming in to buy oil. We just take the seeds, run them through the machines, and put the oil into containers. It involves a lot of heavy lifting and moving drums around. Sometimes the old machines act up and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing a belt or a motor ourselves. We do not have a fancy office or anything like that. There is just a wooden desk near the main door where we keep our notebooks. People come by on their bikes to pick up what they need.
