You can find us on Jaihind Cinema Road in Dehri, Rohtas. We are located at the house of Amit Kumar Sarawgi. It’s a busy street with a lot of noise from the shops and the people walking by. Dehri is a place where people work hard, and we wanted to reflect that with our Hunarbaaz Social Welfare Foundation. The name itself is about having skill, and we see a lot of talent in this part of Bihar that doesn’t always get a chance. Our office is just a couple of rooms where we keep our records and meet with people. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road traffic, but it’s our home base. We aren't some distant NGO; we live and work right here. People come in from the surrounding villages in Rohtas to talk to us about their troubles or their ideas. We don't have a lot of rules about how things should go. We just listen and see if we can connect them with what they need. Sometimes it’s about jobs, other times it’s just about getting some basic help. Bihar can be a tough place to get things moving, but we stay at it. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just walking down the street to meet people face-to-face. It’s not a polished operation, but it’s real and it belongs to this town. We just want to see people here do better for themselves.
