Gems English School

Our place is out at the Gems Campus in Sikaria. It is near Indrapuri, which is part of the Dehri On Sone area. It is a bit of a drive for some families, but that is where we are located. The campus has some trees and enough space for everyone to breathe a little. We have been running things here for quite a while. The classrooms are basic and functional. We use chalk and talk for most of the lessons. The kids bring their own water bottles and tiffin boxes every morning. You can see groups of them sitting under the trees during their lunch break. We have a routine that starts early in the morning. The bell rings and everyone heads to their assigned spots. It is not a silent place, that is for sure. There is always someone running in the hallway or a teacher calling out for everyone to pay attention. We have a small library with some old books that have been read a thousand times. The edges are curled on most of the pages. In the winter, it is quite nice outside on the grounds. The sun feels good during the assembly. In the summer, we just try to stay cool and get through the history and math classes. The main gate is a bit heavy to push. We have a small office where the principal sits, and there are always stacks of papers waiting to be signed. It is a simple setup. We do not have air conditioning, so we just keep the windows open.
