Akabarpuragro Women Goat Farmer Producer Company Limited

Started out small here in Dhelabar Rasulpur. The group is all women and goats are what we know best. Rohtas weather can be tricky so we spend our mornings checking on the kids and making sure the fences are okay. It is located at Dular Chand Ram’s house. Not a fancy office or anything like that. Just a place where we get things done. The goats need a lot of attention, especially when it rains or gets too hot in the summer. Most of us have been doing this our whole lives, just not together like this until now. Now we try to help each other out with the breeding and the feed. It is a lot of work, but that is just farming for you. People walk by and see us busy all day. We are not trying to be some giant company, just trying to make a living for our families. The village is quiet but we keep it moving. Sometimes the goats get out and we have to chase them down the road. It is funny when it happens, though maybe not at the time it is occurring. We know everyone in the area and they know where to find us. If the gate is open, someone is usually there working. We do not have much time for sitting around. Bihar is a tough place for farming but we are used to it by now. That is just how it is here.
