Universal Erector

Universal Erector is run by us here in Rohtak, right in the Kathmandi area at 104/33. My name is Sant Ram, and the business belonged to my father, the late Karan Singh, before me. We’ve been at this same spot for a long time, near the Kathmandi post office. It’s a busy part of Haryana and things get quite loud outside with the trucks and the local markets. We do mostly assembly and putting things together for people who need it. Most days start early when the air is still a bit cool, otherwise the afternoon heat makes the work pretty exhausting. We don’t have any fancy marketing people or a big sales team. It’s usually just us answering the phone and writing things down in a notebook. The building is old but it works for what we do. Sometimes people get lost looking for the specific plot number, but once they find us, they see we are just regular folks trying to make a living. We have some basic tools and a bit of space to store things. It’s not a polished corporate office by any means. There’s usually dust on the desks and oil on our hands. We just handle the jobs as they come in and try to stay on top of the paperwork when we have a minute. It is a simple setup but it has kept our family going for years now.
