You can find our office at House No. 1617 in Sector-8, which is part of the Urban Estate. It is basically a residential house that we use for the Nidhi operations. It makes the whole thing feel much less intimidating than a big bank. People just walk up the driveway and come inside. We have turned the front room into a place where we can sit and talk with members about their savings and loans. It is usually just a couple of us working here. We have a small kitchen in the back where we make coffee and sometimes share a snack when things are slow. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, except for the occasional street vendor passing by. We like it that way because it allows us to focus on the paperwork without too many distractions. There are a lot of files to keep track of, and we do most of the work on two old computers that have seen better days. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes during the summer, we just open the windows and keep working by hand. It is a very direct way of doing business. We aren't interested in becoming a massive company. We just want to be a reliable place for the people in Sector-8 to handle their financial bits. It’s a straightforward life, and we are happy to be part of the community here.
