Sai Marble

Sai Marble is located right on the Sheila Bypass Road in Rohtak. We are out towards the Sonipat Road side, near that big Satyam Ball place. Being on the bypass means there is a constant sound of engines and tires on the asphalt all day long. I started this place because I know stones and how to work with them. We have a big open area where we keep the marble and different kinds of granite. It isn't a polished showroom. It’s more of a working yard where you’ll see us in our old clothes moving heavy slabs around with the crane. The ground is usually covered in white slurry from where we cut the edges sometimes. I spend a lot of time talking to builders who pull their trucks over on their way through Rohtak. My desk is in a small cabin at the front where I keep the ledger. It gets quite cold in the winter and very dusty when the wind picks up off the highway. We have a lot of local guys working here who have been with me since the start. We don't do much advertising. People just see the stacks of stone from the road and stop by to take a look. Some days are slow and we just sit on the plastic chairs outside. Other days are hectic with five different orders needing to go out at the same time. It’s just honest work with heavy materials and long days under the sun. We keep it simple.
